At an Extraordinary General Meeting on Tuesday, 28.01.2014, ElectricAid members discussed a draft new Constitution for our Association. This meeting was the culmination of a lot of detailed work (a total of 13 working drafts were prepared) by the Constitution working group – John Kelly, Des Doherty, Finola O’Donnell, Anthony Le Courriard, and Pearse Crilly, supported by James Foley and Kathleen Kavanagh. The new Constitution itself was the final piece of work outstanding from our 25th Anniversary Programme, in which we committed to reviewing and updating the Constitution to make it fit for purpose for the next 25 years.
The Constitution was approved by the Executive Committee in November, and adopted unanimously by the membership at the EGM.
Note: The new Constitution does not formally come into effect until Revenue Commissioner approval is received. The document has been submitted to Revenue, and we do not anticipate any difficulties in this regard.
