ElectricAid funds Irish Red Cross response in Gaza

ElectricAid recently committed €5000, on your behalf, to the Irish Red Cross’ response effort in Gaza. Declan Curran of the IRC provided us with this update:

‘In Gaza, more than 1,900 people have been killed and some 10,000 wounded since hostilities began.  At least 400,000 people have been displaced and more than 9,000 homes rendered uninhabitable. Since the conflict began, getting sick and injured people in the Gaza strip to hospital has been a top priority for the Red Cross/Red Crescent.  RC staff and volunteers from the Palestine Red Crescent Society have been working around the clock in dangerous conditions to provide urgent medical care.  There is a shortage of basic essentials including water.  Aid is getting through to those most in need and the Irish Red Cross donations will help in this large humanitarian mission.’

Once again, a HUGE thank you to all our members and supporters. It’s your generosity that is helping make this relief project so effective!
