ElectricAid has a long-standing funding relationship with SVP and Ozanam House Resource Centre, an activity and life skills centre for deprived young people in North Inner-City Dublin. In September 2014, we funded them with €7,400 for activities, life-skills, sports and after-school clubs. One activity they are to undertake is a challenging weekend in Killary Harbour – a long way outside their comfort zone!
Tony Rock of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paulwrites: “Over the last few years we have identified a growing issue around young people’s mental health in our youth groups and we really wanted to address this with focused support programmes and activities. We are delighted to receive the funding from Electric Aid to address this vital need in young peoples lives. Over the next year we will be running programmes addressing this issue for up to 125 children and young people in the north east inner city. Special thanks to all at ElectricAid for supporting us to make a real difference in these young peoples lives”
