The 2016 Irish Summit on the Sustainable Development Goals: Turn SDGs into a reality..

The 2016 Irish Summit on the Sustainable Development Goals – Dóchas conference was held in the Croke Park Conference Centre on the 5th of May 2016. The discussion was truly inspiring and has empowered many NGOs, and the people who were present at the event. The President of Ireland – Michael D. Higgins  and the other influential speakers: Sharan Kelly (Chair of Dóchas), Erik Solheim (Chair of the OECD Development Assistance), Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda (General Secretary of World Young Women’s Christian Association), Sean Healy (Director of Social Justice Ireland) and last but not the least the CEO of Dóchas, Suzanne Keatinge expressed each of their own perspectives and views on how we, as a whole nation, can make a difference to the world. This phenomenal event has emphasized the true meaning of  interdependence. It has certainly encouraged all individuals and NGOs including ElectricAid to go beyond the provision of services, and act more as advocates, representing the needs of the vulnerable.

President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins – gave an inspirational and empowering speech on achieving the new 17 Sustainable Development Goals together as one.
