ESB’s departure (for 4 years) from its much-loved Head Office in Fitzwilliam Street is almost complete. The last staff will be moving out soon, and the bulldozers will be in shortly after that. In the meantime, the company has very graciously donated a wealth of unrequired items – furniture, fittings, hundreds of framed prints, glassware, tableware, and bric-a-brac – for auction in aid of ElectricAid. We are truly grateful for this magnificent gesture of support, and for the remarkable efforts in ITS and Facilities in making this happen.
The auction is nearly upon us, the last few items are being catalogued. The Auction will be open to ESB people only, and will be online through a Sharepoint site, which will be open from 28th April to 5th May. The minimum bid is a fiver, and the minimum bid increment is a Euro – sure, where would you get it? There may be some modest reserves on some higher value items, but there will be great value available across the entire range –literally, everything must go! This is a great chance to pick up a really meaningful memento of Fitzwilliam, and to help ElectricAid’s fight against poverty, ignorance and ill-health across the world.
