ElectricAid’s 2016 AGM

ElectricAid’s 2016 Annual General Meeting took place on Tuesday April 25th, in the new surroundings of ESB’s new home at Gateway, East Wall Road, Dublin 3. There was an excellent turnout of “old reliables” and new attendees.

The meeting started off with a sombre report from the field. Eoin Wrenn, Trócaire’s manager for East Africa and the Horn of Africa, briefed  us on the developing food emergency in East Africa and beyond, and thanked ElectricAid for our help in this and so many other fields.

The Executive Report  (attached) gave an excellent overview of another successful year for ElectricAid. Please do take a few minutes to read it.

As well as reviewing our work in 2016, we elected a new Committee. Officers and Trustees were not up for election this year. Niamh Delaney of EirGrid and Gareth Fox of Finance, BSC are the “newbies” for 2016/7, while Seán Finnegan of ESB Networks and Gill Bradley of ESB Trading stood down. They were sincerely thanked for their sterling efforts in 2015/6. These tanks were extended by our Chair, Tina Pittock, to ESB, EirGrid, friends, supporters, and most of all, to you – our 2,635 steadfast contributing members. Without you, nothing could be done. With your support, we did a lot in 2016 and will do more in the years to come.
