The rest of our South Asia funds are going to the Rohingya people.

The final total for our East Africa / South Asia Appeal was €61,500. We had already committed €60,000.

Our Committee has agreed that any remaining funds should be devoted to the plight of the now 0.8 million Rohingya people, forcibly displaced from Myanmar into Bangladesh. These people are arriving into a country already severely affected by the South Asian floods of September/October. Their misery is overwhelming; their needs, for clean water, food, shelter and medical attention, are basic and urgent.

ElectricAid has this week (13.11.2017) transmitted the balance of our Appeal proceeds (€1,500) to the Red Cross who are on the ground in both Myanmar and Bangladesh.
