The Sunshine Class, in Creggs, Co. Roscommon.

To ElectricAid, human need is indivisible; that’s the basic reason why we have always funded in Ireland, as well as the Developing World. This funding of Creggs NS in Co. Roscommon is a good example of this outreach, and also a great example of co-operation across the wider ESB community. This particular project was funded in full by ESB Medical Provident Fund, as part of their 60th Anniversary celebrations.

The funding benefited the “Sunshine Class” in Creggs  – a class in an ordinary primary school for children with moderate to profound disabilities. Did I say ordinary? This is an extremely progressive and forward-thinking school, integrating the education of all local children – and the only primary school in the country with a hydrotherapy pool. The funding covered some basic items – a photometer kit to ensure hygiene and safety for the hydrotherapy pool, some new sanitary ware for the changing area, and a new dishwasher and cooker. Basic and simple, but absolutely necessary to keep the Sunshine Class going strong.

Your generosity (and that of MPF!) has made sure that the sun continues to shine on the Sunshine Class!
