ElectricAid is perhaps most famed for its work in the developing world however we never turn our backs on helping those in need at home in Ireland. So when Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) applied for funding for a wheelchair accessible swing we were determined to see if we could help them in any way we could.
ElectricAid supplied €5,000 in funding to help construct and install the swing and provide a unique experience for many physically disabled people in the Dublin area. We at ElectricAid feel that this was a very cost effective project when we considered how specialised the equipment is, how often it will be used and how much enjoyment it will bring.

The swing was only open to use in April and is already incredibly popular with wheelchair users of all ages, from primary school children to their parents, using the new amenity. As CRC wrote in their report,
“Seeing a person experiencing that childhood joy of flying through the air for the first time in their lives was absolutely amazing”.
This is another example of the happiness that can be caused by lots of people giving small donations and for this we must once again thank our loyal and generous members who make all of the work we do possible. Their generosity is what drives this charity, a point that we like to remind everyone of as often as we can.
