ElectricAid COVID-19 Emergency Appeal – UPDATE

Electricaid Green

We are just over one week into our Emergency Appeal and have raised a fantastic €13,725 from staff & pensioners alike.

So far, ElectricAid has funded 17 Projects totalling €107,537. Many thanks for your kindness and generosity.

€38,134 is going directly to projects here on the island of Ireland and includes The Irish Hospice Foundation, Feed the Heroes, Pieta House, Strabane Academy, Comfort4 Covid, DePaul and the Central Remedial Clinic. Together, these 7 projects are responding in straightforward practical ways such as feeding our frontline workers, using 3D printers to manufacture face shields or funding technology, for DePaul, Irish Hospice Foundation, Comfort4COVID and Pieta House, as they move services online.

A further 8 projects totalling €69,403 have been funded overseas in Kenya, Malawi, Ethiopia, India, Niger and Tanzania with trusted partners such as Brighter Communities Worldwide, Self Help Africa, The Hope Foundation, GOAL, Children in Crossfire and the Edith Wilkins Street Children Foundation. All are working to protect some of the world’s most vulnerable communities in meaningful ways through funding hygiene and sanitation supplies, health awareness campaigns and equipment for community health centres to meet the challenges of COVID-19.

None of this would be possible without the support of our donors throughout ESB and our retirees. Sadly COVID-19 is going to be with us for quite some time and we need your help to continue funding similar projects both at home and abroad.

All donations regardless of size are greatly appreciated and never taken for granted.
