COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout Programme, Kericho County

A Brighter Communities Project funded by ElectricAid

Thanks to ElectricAid and Brighter Communities Worldwide, 11 health facilities were better prepared for administering vaccines because they had new fridges for storage, cooler boxes for transport, PPE and display materials about the COVID-19 vaccine to inform the community who attended their facilities.

The training of 100 Health Care Workers on Cold Chain Management enabled them to provide effective and high quality immunisation services to the community members, particularly targeting children under 5 years, girls 10-14 years, expectant mothers and community members eligible for COVID -19 vaccination.

206 Community Health Volunteers were trained and were able to inform 4,674 households reaching 23,370 beneficiaries about COVID-19 and its vaccine.

“Our children can now access vaccinations without having to travel distances or missing vaccines on the appointed date.’’

Community Member from Belgut Sub County
